Facilities

The hall

The hall is approximately 13.5m by 4.30 metres in size or (58.05 sq.metres)

• Our Public Entertainment Licence states the maximum number of people allowed in the hall:

·        60 seated at tables (i.e. for a meal)

·        75 dancing

·        80 seated in rows (i.e. for a concert or play)

·        100 standing

Staging is also available for music and drama events

• We do not hold a licence for selling alcohol so any event that plans to do this should make their own application to Wiltshire Council and email a copy to the Booking Secretary.

• We have 14 folding tables, (size - 1 metre by 2 metres), 65 upholstered chairs and 4 upholstered benches that seat 3-4 people

• Electricity - The equipment in the kitchen and the kitchen sockets all require £1 coins to be inserted into the meter in the corridor outside the kitchen.  The sockets in the main hall are not on the meter system.

It is recommended that you bring a good supply of £1 coins as it is not possible to estimate accurately how long £1 in the meter will last.

• The kitchen has:

  • Electric Stove

  • Microwave

  • Hot water urn

  • Electric kettles

  • plenty of crockery and cutlery for use at events

There is a Wi-Fi connection in the Hall and the code is on the noticeboard by the inner door

Heating

A new heating system was installed in 2024, thanks to a grant from the National Lottery.  The units come on automatically once the sensors detect movement in the hall.  Please don't adjust the controls which are set to give a comfortable temperature.  

If no movement is detected e.g during a concert, play or meeting, the units will turn off but will re-start if movement is detected again
